On the Founder journey, when the going gets tough I often turn to the big boys for wisdom.

Marcus Aurelius most likely wasn’t thinking of brand values when he wrote this, but for me, this is all about walking the walk and talking the talk.

And it helps reinforce keeping us on track.

It’s easy to get distracted during the early/scaling phases as opportunities flicker and heads get turned.

I get it, I really do.

But try and remember, your brand values are your responsibility. They rest firmly on your shoulders at all times – even when you think no one is watching.

They inform how you show up for your brand and should ensure you act with integrity.

Do your brand values, and how you action them, stand up to the great expectations of Marcus Aurelius?

It’s important to keep asking these questions to stay on track.

Check in with your stoics. If it’s not right, don’t do it, if it’s not true, don’t say it.
